Key Stage 4

The New Regent’s College Key Stage 4 Programme offers alternative education for students in year 10 and 11. TheKey Stage 4 Programme offers full-time education placements for students who are referred by Hackney  Education and Hackney Schools.

Specialisms in the team include wellbeing and progression mentoring, special educational needs, careers advice, attendance support, quality and curriculum monitoring and school and family liaison. Our team offer interventions and support with a number of issues that are affecting young people today, such as returning to school post Lockdown, personal safety, healthy relationships, managing emotions, relationships building and preparation for education, work and training.

We have a variety of programmes available to meet the needs of our young people. These programmes range from full time GCSE to vocational courses including a multi-skills construction course, music production, health and social care and hair and beauty. We have a
brand new Key Stage 4 facility on the Nile Street site, which will be suitable for those students who are able to access a GCSE programme with some aspects of vocational studies.

In addition, we have small providers who offer a pastoral, nurturing environment, as well as larger college style providers who can offer a more mainstream experience. We are also able to offer bespoke programmes to suit students with specific needs. All of our providers are adept at offering support for students that find themselves outside of mainstream education and need help with both behaviour and/or learning needs. We work in close partnership with professional agencies, Speech, and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, Hackney’s Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools  (WAMHS) project, Social Care, Virtual School, Young Hackney, Attendance and Educational Welfare Officers and the police to ensure students receive the wrap around support they require.

Our School Day

Our school day is from 9.45am-3.30pm and begins with breakfast club at 9:00am and then
tutorial; first lesson begins at 10:15am. Lunch is at 1:20pm for forty minutes.
Students wear full school uniform and personal possessions, including mobile phones, are
collected on arrival to be securely locked away for the duration of the day.
Students remain onsite throughout the whole school day. If students remain with us on site they
are based in either a year 10 or year 11 classroom for core subjects and then use our state-of-
the-art facilities such as the Sports Hall and the ICT Suite for other subjects. Lunch is provided
in the dining room.
