Anti-Bullying Week at NRC

Posted on 2nd Dec

KS3 pupils had lively discussions during Anti-Bullying workshops delivered by Off Centre.  The sessions aimed to increase awareness amongst our young people of the effects of Bullying. Off Centre is a counselling, therapy, advocacy, advice and psychosocial service for young people who live, work or study in Hackney. All pupils engaged fully with the discussions and agreed it had been a positive experience where they had learnt about the effects of bullying and how to eliminate bullying from our school. The facilitator, Deirdre Morrison, delivered a fantastic workshop and said ‘The group were really engaged and it went very well. They gave positive feedback.’

Other activities during Anti-Bullying Week included extended writing activities where pupils had to write from the perspective of a victim of bullying. There were many class based discussions enabling pupils to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of bullying and different forms it may take. Pupils were encouraged to reflect on their own behaviour and acceptance of all people.

New Regents College aims to be a Bully Free Zone with zero tolerance to any forms of bullying.
