Posted on 2nd Feb

Pupils and staff are celebrating at New Regent's College after being award an Arts mark award by Arts council England.

In order to become an Artsmark School, New Regent’s College has demonstrated its commitment to giving each and every child a high quality art and cultural education, as well as showing our ambitious plans for the future. Students focus on art from around the world to enrich their learning and are given the opportunity to learn about art and artists throughout history. Students also regularly work with The Royal Academy of Dance through their ‘Step into Dance’ programme, and the school’s drama curriculum enables pupils to develop key team-work and social skills.

Executive Headteaher, Richard Brown, said: “We are delighted that the quality of arts provision at New Regent’s has been recognised. Our Mission statement ‘Learning to Succeed’ demonstrates that we will use creative approaches to engage our young people so they can be successful.”

Congratulating the school on their achievement, Darren Henley, Chief Executive of Arts Council England, said: “I would like to congratulate New Regent’s College on joining Artsmark Award and welcome them into our growing family of Artsmark schools.  The school has put together an ambitious plan which will ensure each of its pupils is given the opportunity to explore and build a love of the arts.”
