New Regents College and Houses of Parliament

Diane Hedditch, Education Outreach Officer from Houses of Parliament delivered a fantastic workshop to our KS3 pupils.

In the session there was an interactive general overview that looked at the difference between the House of Lords and the House of Commons followed a debate, with half the group arguing in favour and half the group arguing against.  This helped the pupils to understand that it takes a lot of people to make a new law but that these are people from all walks of life and backgrounds. 

All of the pupils participated and gained a practical understanding of how democracy works.

 

Diane Hedditch has agreed to return next term for a similar workshop with our KS2 pupils.
