Maths

The Maths department at New Regents College aims to help pupils reach their full academic potential, stretching the most able learners as well as supporting those that are not as strong in the subject.

KS3 pupils are taught four to five lessons of Maths a week, covering the full breath of the National curriculum whilst developing skills of they will require for GCSEs in Ks4. In addition, pupils are set weekly Maths homework to ensure they are carrying out an adequate amount of independent learning.

Pupils are taught Maths using a variety of teaching styles and/or resources giving them the best opportunity to learn and understand the concepts involved. Pupils develop their problem solving skills on a daily basis helping them academically as well as for life beyond education. High standards are expected of all learners in order to secure a good platform for progressing on to KS4.
